People Without Home

Integration programme (since 1990) from its beginning has been helping a wide range of people who find themselves in difficult life situations. These are above all the homeless and the people who are directly or indirectly endangered by homelessness, but also households in excluded areas. Parts of the Integration programme are streetworking, ambulatory social services and accommodation services. They are mutually interconnected and are supplemented in response to the clients´ needs. The goal is to help a human to integrate back to the social life.
The Integration programme is a package of services, conceived as multigraded. Its basic stage is streetwork, day centres and dorms. These are completed with further stages of shelter housing and subsidized housing. A larger development of this subsidized housing, which would enable integration, is hindered by the lack of social flats.
Parts of the programme are:

  • field work, mobile street services;
  • ambulatory social services: public open day centres, dorms;
  • accommodation services: shelter housing, subsidized housing;
  • support of employment: creating new working opportunities (public benefit work, community service);
  • medical care: a GP surgery in Prague;
  • religious and pastoral care;
  • emergency services: winter shelters and dorms, food aid;
  • public education, psychological counselling, counselling for debtors;
  • complementary services: social canteen, providing clothes.

This programme specifically focuses on supporting families and individuals in excluded areas. An important part is ambulatory services and services in household of endangered people, especially in social housing, urban dorms and low-category flats without equipment for rent-owing residents.

Parts of the programme are:

  • field work, social intervention in flats, socially activating services for families with children;
  • ambulatory social services: public open facilities for children and the youth, clubs for children and the youth;
  • food aid;
  • religious and pastoral care;
  • public education, psychological counselling, counselling for debtors.
