People With Disabilities

The programme for disabled people (since 1992) is a package of services for children, young people as well as for adults with impaired health or some kind of disability. Most services are designed for people with mental or combined disability. The goal of the programme is a versatile development of the personality of the disabled people, through an individual approach and the support of the quality of their life. The programme is conceived as a complex system for clients whose age ranges from childhood to the old age. It comprises accommodation, ambulatory social services and field work services.
The services of short stay wards offer their clients the opportunity to spend their leisure in an active way, the development of their personality, as well as the contact with the outer world. Families are enabled to get or keep their jobs and also rest in their highly demanding care for their dearest and nearest.
Socially therapeutic workshops focus on the vocational rehabilitation of their clients. The clients aim at acquiring new skills, boosting their self-confidence, enhancing the feeling of their own responsibility, learning to cooperate and preparing for an open work market.
Personal assistance is a field work service, provided in the natural environment. The target is above all to help the client become more independent, to become conscious of their own value and uniqueness, and to support them in their integration into the social life.
Home and week stay ward is designed for the people with a higher level of disability, the services are conceived to create a domestic environment. The clients are living in small communities and are provided a comprehensive care – educational, nursing, medical, rehabilitation and therapeutic. We attempt at the largest possible openness towards the outer environment.
Sheltered housing focuses on enhancing the independence of a disabled person. The aim is to help them reach a certain degree of this independence. Some of the clients are – after a certain period of time – leaving for the real life and they cease to be social service recipients.

Parts of the programme are:

  • field work services: personal assistance;
  • ambulatory social services: short stay wards, socially therapeutic workshops;
  • stay services: week stay wards, homes for the disabled, sheltered housing;
  • boosting the job opportunities: mediation of job opportunities on the job market;
  • medical care: permanent medical care, external doctor;
  • offering education and pedagogical work;
  • religious and pastoral care;
  • complementary services: recreational and reconditioning stays, participation in sports competitions, offering active and passive ways of cultural enjoyment.
